sir this is  mri of 9 month old male baby

normal vaginal delivery
nothing significant in ante natal and post natal period
had physiological jaundice in first week ,
at 5th month he had suffered from staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome .recovered well .
attained neck control @ 7th month but bobbing of the neck present but the tone is hypotonic

the tone is hypotonic
for evaluation for hypotonic mri was done
with following impression


BRAIN----
severely thinned out corpus callosum and is small in size .
MILD PROMINENCE OF POSTERIOR HORN AND TEMPORAL HORNS OF LATERAL VENTRICLES.
MILD GIVE AWAY APPEARENCE OF LATERAL VENTRICLES .
SUGESTIVE OF HYPOPLASTIC CARPOUS CALLOSUM.
PROMINENT CISTERNA MAGNA .
SLIGHTLY PRONINENT CORTICAL SULCI WITH PROMINENT SUBDURAL CSF SPACE ALONG BOTH FRONTAL LOBES .


SPINE ---

SYRINGOMYELIA IN THE CERVICAL AND DORSAL SPINAL CORD SPARING A SMALL PORTION OF UPPER DORSAL CORD ..



PLEASE SUGGEST REGARDING THE TREATMENT AND THE PROGNOSIS.

Thank u for your query.
Hypoplasia of Corpus callosum is a developmental aberration and requires only symptomatic treatment. It cannot and need not be corrected surgically.;
Advice on syringomyelia can be given only after a clinical examination  and study of MRI pictures;just the report wouldn’t do.
